Jack Joseph Detournillon, Sr.

Jack Joseph deTournillon, Sr. 71, of John's Island, the widower of Lillian "Gail" Waldrop deTournillon, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 30, 2011. Born March 19, 1940, in Charleston, he was the son of the late Eugene Jerome and Josephine Beard deTournillon. Jack was a proud member of the James Island Fire Department and retired security officer from Trident Security. He was a loving husband, father and Poppa. He is survived by his Son, Jack J. deTournillon, Jr., his daughter, Tina Dubose, his two sisters: Ellen Hornsby of Charleston and Cary Lee Way of Goose Creek; 2 granddaughters: Devyn and Taylor deTournillon and many nieces and nephews in the Charleston and Moncks Corner area. Jack also has extended family members and step children in Greenville, SC. He enjoyed watching football, fishing and was an avid gardener with an amazing green thumb. Song of Solomon 6:2 My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies. The relatives and friends of Jack J. deTournillon are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 11:30 AM, Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home,1620 Savannah Hwy. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until time of service. Burial, along with the remains of his beloved, Gail, will be at 2:00 PM at Beaufort National Cemetery. "Together again".
