Irma Grubbs Garrett, 98, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 8, 2014. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Garrett and her family are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM Saturday, March 15, 2014, from Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Savannah Hwy., Charleston. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island. Born in Statesboro, Georgia and raised in the Savannah area, Irma was the daughter of Charles B. and Opal W. Grubbs. After graduating from Savannah High School, she moved to Charleston, where she married Judson P. Garrett. Mrs. Garrett was widowed in 1997 after 63 years of marriage. She was a retired Deputy Clerk of the Charleston County Clerk of Court. Mrs. Garrett is survived by a daughter, Patricia G. Cooper of Atlanta, GA, two sons: Michael of Charleston, and Judson P. Garrett, Jr. of Annapolis, MD; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
