Irene was born November 11, 1930, in Mt. Pleasant, SC. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Harry A. Brunson; four daughters, Harriet I. Brunson, Jennifer A. O'Neil, Rebecca L. Middleton, and Nancy C. Sullivan; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert E. Clark and three sisters, Ann H. Clark, Sarah C. Cook and Edna C. Bibb.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Ave, Ste. 504, North Charleston, SC 29406.
