Heyward Charles Mitchum

Heyward Charles Mitchum, 53, of Ravenel, SC, entered into eternal rest August 08, 2021. The relatives and friends of Charles Mitchum are invited to attend his Funeral Service 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Hwy, Charleston. Interment will follow at St. Paul Episcopal Churchyard, Chapel Road, in Hollywood, SC. The family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Charles was born October 21, 1967 in Orangeburg, SC, a son of Martha Crosby and Steve B. Mitchum. He worked in HVAC all his life and eventually owned his own business, Mitchum's Heating and Air. Mr. Mitchum was devoted to his family and spent a great deal of time with them on his boat. A sweet and loving man, he was especially proud of his children and grandchildren, and was known as someone who would do anything to help others. He had many friends and enjoyed spending time with all of them. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Charles is survived by his father, Steve B. Mitchum and wife Lorene; three children: Amanda Caligiuri (Joey), Miranda Mitchum, and Johnny Mitchum; 6 grandchildren: Hayden, Haleigh, Hagen, Jeffrey, Kaleb, Addison; 3 siblings: Steve Mitchum (Teresa), Duke Mitchum (Cherron), and Annette Alexander (Ralph); and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Mitchum; 4 siblings: Teresa, Alberta, and Wade Mitchum and Robert Crosby; and his mother.
