Harry Norton Hayden

Harry Norton Hayden, age 77, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016 at his home in Charleston, SC after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Norton Hayden are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 2:30 PM, Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway.  The burial in St. Lawrence Cemetery will be private.  Harry was born in New Haven, Connecticut, the son of the late Doyle and Lula Hayden.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Doyle Hayden.  Harry proudly served the City of Charleston Fire Department for over 30 years before retiring in 1994.  He was a devoted loving husband, father and grandfather.Harry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley White Hayden; two sons, Harry and Paul Hayden; two daughters, Debra Matlock and Sharon Kulik and four granddaughters, Miranda Kulik, Lauren Kulik, Meghan Matlock and Hannah Hayden.Memorial donations may be made to Heartland Hospice, 1470 Tobias Gadsden Blvd, Charleston SC 29407.
