Hannah Jane Victoria Chappell

Hannah Jane Victoria Chappell, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on August 25, 2023. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 1, 2023, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5 St. Teresa Dr, Charleston. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, James Island.

Hannah Jane was born April 20, 2022 to Douglas and Jillian Chappell, of Charleston, SC. During her short but happy time with us on earth, she brought enormous love and laughter to our home every day. She had a smile that made you adore her even when she was getting in trouble. She gave hugs intentionally and loved to blow kisses. Her funny faces and goofy cat noises made us laugh uncontrollably.

Books, pinwheels, her rocking horse, and her lovies were some of her favorite toys. She loved eating berries, avocado, salmon, and shrimp, especially from someone else’s plate. She always liked to be with other children and babies. She loved putting on her bracelets and choosing a pair of shoes for us to put on her, and then standing by the door like she was ready to go somewhere. She was happiest outside--going for walks, waving at neighbors, splashing in mud, getting covered in sand, trying to climb the big-kid playground, riding down slides, and playing with the evening sunbeams with dirt in her hair.

She will be missed every single moment by her parents, big brother Alexander who made her laugh endlessly, her Nana and Papa, Linda and Bill Chappell of Rock Hill, SC; her Grammy, Beth Tarkany of North Charleston; Grandad, John Tarkany of Dayton, OH; Aunt Emily, Uncle Matt, Catee, and Will of Rock Hill, SC; Aunt Melissa and Uncle Thomas Holmes of Atlanta, GA; and Aunt Sarah and Uncle Jacob of Chicago, IL, and many loving friends.
