Gilbert Allen Pucino

Gilbert Allen "Gil" Pucino, husband of Candy S. Pucino of Charleston, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1695 Raoul Wallenberg Blvd., Charleston. The Rite of Committal will follow at the church Columbarium. The family will receive friends prior to the Mass, between 11:30 and 12:30, at the St. Joseph Family Life Center.

Gil was a true patron of the culinary arts and took great joy in cooking for his family and friends. He spent 38 years in the insurance industry, building a career that reflected his dedication, hard work, and commitment to those around him. Gil spent his retirement years working at Home Depot, reliving his former career as a Master Electrician. He enjoyed those he worked with and the daily interactions with his many customers and friends.

He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a founding member and Past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 10334, an organization that held a special place in his heart. He was also a man of many interests, talents, careers, and passions. He often described himself as a "jack of all trades, master of none," a phrase that perfectly captured his adventurous spirit and his willingness to try just about anything.

Those who knew Gil will fondly remember him as "the man, the myth, and the legend"-a testament to the personality and presence that made him so memorable to so many. Above all else, Gil treasured his family. He loved his children and grandchildren deeply, and his grandchildren were truly the apple of his eye. His family was his greatest source of pride and joy, and he held them close to his heart. Gil lived a full and meaningful life, touching the lives of many through his humor, generosity, talents, and love. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Gil is survived by his loving wife Candy Pucino; his daughters, Cathy Robinson, Jennifer (Bryan) Smith; his son, Michael (Elizabeth) Pucino; his grandchildren, Shelbey Jumper, Tradd Smith, Gabriella Pucino; his sisters, Debby Halliwell, Billie Jo Graves, Diane (Ronald) Graves; his brothers, Jerry (Nancy) Graves, Donald Graves, Will Lloyd, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Frances A. Graves; his father, Billy Joe Graves; Nicholas Pucino; and his brother, Stephen Pucino.
