A. Gevert Hollings III entered into his final resting place on July 6, 2024, and is joining his father, A. G. “Gus” Hollings, Jr.; his mother, de Lillian Snowden Hollings and his sister, Anna Paisley in eternal peace. Gevert is survived by his wife, Rita; his daughter, Erika (James McIntire); his grandson, Hunter; his niece, Katie Cook and many cherished cousins.
Gevert graduated from Charleston High, attended the College of Charleston and graduated from the University of South Carolina. He worked for the Department of Transportation as an appraiser, prior to becoming the President of Chalmers Realty.
Gevert was a third generation Charlestonian and an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, where he served on the Vestry. He was a member of the Hiberian Society and the James Island Yacht Club. He also cherished his memberships in the Eureka Hunt Club and Haven Hunt Club. Gevert was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed sailing, fishing, hunting and boating.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life reception between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the James Island Yacht Club, 734 Wampler Drive, James Island.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Church of Good Shepherd, P.O.
