CHARLESTON-Entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 14, 2011, Geraldine Mazzell Smith, widow of William Epp "Billy" Smith. The relatives and friends of Geraldine M. Smith are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Nativity Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends this Tuesday evening at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. between 6:00 and 8:00 PM. Geraldine was born in Charleston on November 11,1928, a daughter of Walker and Jerlee Groves Mazzell. She attended Charleston Area schools and was a member of Nativity Catholic Church. Geraldine loved her life as a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She especially enjoyed spending the holidays with her family. Special thanks to her daughter and caregiver, Susan Smith. She will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren including daughters, Susan Smith, Vickie Gorman (Tommy), of Charleston, sons, Frank Smith (Kay), of Ravenel, Michael Smith of John's Island, Jonathan Smith and Craig Smith of James Island; Grandchildren, Tony Gorman, Amy Gorman, Tyler Gorman, Erik Smith, Kelley Smith, Coleman Smith and Camden Smith. She is also survived by two sisters, Annie M. Boylette and Myrtle M. Pritchard, both of Charleston; two brothers, Walker "Johnny" Mazell (Pat) and Luther Mazell, Jr., both of Charleston.
