Geraldine Buero Richards Shuler widow of Pierce Lee Irby Shuler, died Sunday, February 7, 2010 . The relatives and friends of Geraldine B.R. Shuler are invited to attend her funeral service at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Hwy. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this Tuesday between the hours of 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. She was born in Charleston a daughter of Angelo and Florie Rogers Buero on Saturday, August 18, 1928. Surviving are her six children, Jillaine R. Johnson (Butch) of Dumfries, VA, Sheron R. Almon (Richard) of Owensville, IN, Angelia R. Karesh (Edmund), John F. Richards, Lawrence J. Richards and Clinton M. Richards all of Charleston, SC; four step children, Donna Jackson, Andrew Shuler, Roger Shuler and Yvonne Templeton; 10 grandchildren and fifteen step grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren as well as several nephews and nieces. Mrs. Shuler was a graduate of Chicora High School in 1945 and worked for a short time at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and later for Holcomb and Pinckney Real Estate and Insurance Company. She was a Girl Scout Leader and Den Mother, a member of the Charleston Rifle Club , the Ladies Auxillary of the Elks Club and the Island Shag Club. Mrs. Shuler lived in Lake Havasu, AZ for 8 years, returned home in 1989 and lived in Summerville for almost 17 years then moved West of the Ashley.
