Gerald "Jerry" Olin Bunton

Gerald "Jerry" Olin Bunton, 58, of Hollywood, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017, at his home. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. Jerry was born in Walterboro, South Carolina on September 30, 1958. He was the son of Edna E. Bunton and the late George O. Bunton. He attended St. John's High School and was a commercial fisherman and talented construction worker. He loved crabbing, traveling and football. Jerry, was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. His optimism for life and love of travel was second to none. He will be indescribably missed by all, especially his sister. Jerry is survived by his mother, Edna; sister, Deborah Gail Bunnel (Tom) ; brother, James E. Sanders, Jr. (Sandra); niece, Tiffany Lee Connor; grand niece, Mikayla Conner and his grand nephew Micah Connor. He was predeceased by his father, George, as well as a brother, Michael J. Bunton. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
