Gerald Dursse

Gerald "Jerry" Lawrence Dursse, 78, of Charleston, widower of Mrs. Beulah Marie Cox Dursse, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013. Jerry was born August 5, 1934 in Charleston, SC. Son of the late Sydney A. Dursse and Carmel Hanley Dursse. Jerry was a graduate of Bishop England High School and a Retired Merchant Seaman. "In the wind blew a sailor from sea, to help and protect, a father he'd be; He's now left this world for that glorious home, We know he's with Beulah and far from alone; We'll see him someday in departing life's way, as she welcomes him in to begin their new day!" Jerry is survived by five daughters: Brenda S. Hydrick and her husband, Tommy, Holly M. Bell and her husband, Andy, Kim H. Janecek and her husband, David, Angela M. Smoak and husband Larry, and Gina M. Mock and her husband, Tommy, and three grandchildren: Chelsie Wells, Chad Hurcomb and Alexis Mock; two great grandchildren: Coleman Dean and Bristol Rylan Wells, and numerous relatives. The friends and relatives of Mr. Gerald L. Dursse are invited to attend his funeral service from the Graveside at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Rd., Charleston, SC 29407.
