Georgia Geraldine Lavia

Entered into eternal rest on April 5, 2011, Geraldine Meteraud Lavia. The relatives and friends of Georgia Geraldine LaVia are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 8, 2011, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends this Thursday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 PM at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home 1620 Savannah Hwy. Geraldine was born in Rock Hill, SC on April 11, 1935, a daughter of Frank and Bertha Ferrel Workman. Known as Mom, Grandma, Granny and Geri to all those who loved her. Geri's family and friends were her dearest treasures. Her joy came from her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of her bridge club for over forty years. Geri retired after twenty-six years at MUSC Family Medicine. Everyone who knew her felt her love and kindness. Her laughter will linger in our hearts forever. She is survived by her four children: Debbie Meteraud, Chris Meteraud, Michelle Meteraud and Shannon Meteraud; 8 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild and her sister, Ruth Helms.
