George Alfred Mccrary, Jr.

George Alfred McCrary, Jr., 91, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, husband of the late Ann Gould McCrary, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 17, 2022.

The relatives and friends of George A. McCrary, Jr. are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 24, 2022, at Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1122 Russell Dr, Mt. Pleasant. The Rite of Committal, at St. Lawrence Cemetery, will be private. The family will receive friends between 3:00 and 5:00 PM Sunday afternoon at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. The Rosary will be recited at 3:00 PM.

George was born May 29, 1931, in Charleston, SC, a son of the late George Alfred and Azalie Kanapaux McCrary. He was a graduate of Bishop England High School and retired from Southern Bell after 45 years of faithful service. George honorably served in the US Air Force.

George is survived by his five children: Tim McCrary, Beth Liberatos (James), Patty Montgomery, Eileen Thames and Kevin  McCrary (Bernadette); his eleven grandchildren: Kelly Ann, Joey, Honey, Jesse, Maxell and Isabel McCrary, James and Nicholas Liberatos, Zachary and Melissa Thames and Mary Longhurst; his five great-grandchildren: Gracie and Ruby McCrary, Kaleb, Leland and Keland Longhurst; his brother, William McCrary (Carole); his sister, Janette Leland (Pat) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. George was predeceased by a sister, Annette Odom.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Christ Our King Catholic Church, Roper Hospice Cottage or to a charity of your choice.
