Gail Bolchoz Mcqueeney

Gail Bolchoz McQueeney, 70, of Charleston, SC passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. A life-long resident of Charleston, Gail was born on June 24, 1952 to the late Theodore R. Bolchoz III and Louelle Moore Bolchoz. Gail attended Bishop England High School in Charleston, where she was a cheerleader.

Gail was a caring mother to her 3 children, William Thomas McQueeney III (Jennifer), Joseph Patrick McQueeney and Kathryn McQueeney Altman (Christopher) and a beloved “GiGi” to her five grandchildren, Cullen, Will, Macen, Blake and Blair. Gail cherished time with her grandchildren above all else.

Gail was warm and welcoming. She was a “second mom” to many of her children’s friends as well as her numerous nieces and nephews. Gail loved to exercise, play tennis and work in the yard. She had fond memories of time spent with her siblings and cousins as a child. Gail often talked about going to the “Fishing Camp” with her family on Sundays when she was young.

Gail is survived by her children and grandchildren, her brother, Victor Bolchoz (Rita) and her sister, Joanne Farris (Mark) as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her two brothers, Barry and Stevie Bolchoz.

The family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. A private Funeral Service and Burial will be held on Thursday. Online condolences may be offered at www.charlestonfunerals.com .

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gail’s name can be made to Charlestowne Landing Historical Site or the Triple B Club at Bishop England High School.
