Fred Lee Cloessner, 95, widower of Vondine Mack Cloessner and a retired Mechanical Engineer for the Charleston Naval Shipyard, entered into eternal rest Wednesday February 17, 2021. The relatives and friends of Fred Lee Cloessner are invited to attend his Funeral Service 2:00 PM Monday, February 22, 2021 from the Graveside at the Beulah United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1577 Old State Road, Gaston, SC. The family will receive friends between 12:00 and 2:00 PM Sunday at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston.
Mr. Cloessner was born July 1, 1925 in Leesville, LA, a son of the late Nora Lee and Fred N. Cloessner. Fred served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a graduate of the class of 1951 at the University of SC, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Fred retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard after many years of service. A longtime member of Beulah United Methodist Church, he for many years was also active in attendance and support of John Wesley United Methodist in Charleston. A loving family man, he will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.
Mr. Cloessner is survived by 2 daughters, Debbie C. Hayward and Shari Davies, and a host of extended family.
