CHARLESTON, SC - SABO, Frank, 83, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, July 21. A native of Summerset, PA, he was raised in Leechburg, PA. He was a son of the late Steve and Veronica Sabo. A veteran of the United States Army, he served two separate enlistments, including one tour of duty in Korea (1951-1953), and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. A welder by trade, he retired from Southeastern Steel Company after 30 years of service. A hard worker, his primary focus was his family, and he was a loving father and husband. Frank was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Dorothy Evans Sabo. He is survived by 2 sons: Louis "Larry" Sabo and wife Marward "Mardi" of Taylors, SC, and Timothy Sabo of Charleston, SC; one daughter, Deborah S. Ashley and husband Ken of Crestview, FL; 7 Grandchildren: Sean, Louis, Katie, Amanda, Michael, Russell, Jonathan; 3 Great-Grandchildren: Kaitlan, James, Peyton. He is also survived by a brother, Robert Sabo, and a sister, Betty Hoch, both of Pennsylvania. The relatives and friends of Frank Sabo are invited to attend his funeral service at 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 25, 2012, from the chapel of the James A. McAlister Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 61. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
