Francis White

Francis White, 87, husband of Catherine Elizabeth Regan (Betty) White, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Francis White are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5 St. Teresa Dr.  The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 PM, Monday, December 26, 2016, at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. Frank’s gentle soul and spirit was born November 26, 1929, in Portsmouth, Ohio, he was a son of the late George Ray White and Adolpha Conkey White. Frank having relocated to Charleston, met the love of his life and celebrated 65 years of marriage.  He was a veteran of the United State Army and spent a career as an electrician at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Frank’s great sports passion was golf.  He enjoyed many years on the course playing as a member of the Elks Tuesday Golf Group.  Frank was a Life Member of the BPO of Elks Lodge Number 242 and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council Number 704. Frank is survived by his wife Betty; son, Gary White, Sr and his wife, Debra; granddaughter, Barbara Thompson and her husband, Charlie; grandson, Gary White, Jr. and his wife Holly and five great-grand children, Regan White, Emma White, Autumn Thompson, Conor White and Sky Thompson, all of Charleston. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Tara Hall Home for Boys, P.O.
