Francis Xavier Garry, 87, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Sunday, January 17, 2016. He was predeceased by his wife Colleen McConnon, who passed away in 2007.The relatives and friends of Frank X. Garry are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 22, 2016, at Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1122 Russell Drive, Mt. Pleasant. The Rite of Committal will be private. Frank is survived by: his son Kevin, Kevin's wife, Marsha and their two daughters, Meredith and Ashlyn, of Boston, MA. His three daughters Bernadette, Jenny, and Colleen of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his youngest brother, Brian Garry and his longtime friend and brother-in-law Gerald Giambrone, Sr. Those who knew Frank would say he had a fifth and perhaps favorite "child", his loyal companion, his St Bernard's Wings and Beau.Frank was a true New Yorker, born and raised on the upper east side of Manhattan. He was a loyal NY Giants, NY Ranger and NY Islander fan. Frank worked for IBM in NY as a computer programmer/system analyst. He was legendary for his no nonsense management style and candor. Frank was the recipient of the prestigious IBM Watson Award for his leadership skills.In his spare time Frank enjoyed coaching CYO basketball and in 1971 he led the St Anthony's boys CYO team to win the New York State Championship.A major component of Frank's identity was his Catholic faith. The church has always been a source of strength and support for him. "Through Many Dangers, Toils & SnaresI Have Come;'Tis Grace Has Brought Me Safe Thus Far;And Grace Will Lead Me Home"....
