Frances' Guestbook may be signed at www.CharlestonFunerals.com. Frances was born in Columbia, South Carolina, December 28, 1930 to the late Bessemer McGill and David Mabry Mobley. She graduated from Dreher High School in 1947, and received a B.A. in Education from the University of South Carolina in 1951. She was a member of Les Trente Amies and Delta Delta Delta. Frances worked for the city public school system in Columbia, S.C. until she married Huger Sinkler, Jr. of Charleston in 1954. As a member of the Junior League, she volunteered at the Florence Crittenton Home and also helped young children with speech impairments. Frances and her family moved to Rosebank Plantation on Wadmalaw Island where she actively participated in farm life and helped run Rosebank Plantation Stables. Later, she pursued her innate decorating talents by informally helping family and friends, and professionally at By the Yard and GDC. Faith was a very important part of Frances' life from early on. She was a long time active member of St. John's Parish of Johns Island, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Frances served on the Altar Guild, the Flower Guild, and was one of the first members of St. John's powerful "prayer chain." In 2012, her work was recognized by St. John's in their Bridge publication. For all those who knew and loved her, Frances was a beautiful Southern lady who epitomized elegance, style, grace, and charm. She always put others before herself. Frances knew the importance of love, acceptance, and forgiveness and wanted all to know the peace that comes from the Lord. Frances loved and was dearly loved by her family, many friends, coworkers, and caretakers and she would want them to take comfort that she is singing and dancing in heaven! Frances Sinkler is predeceased by her husband, Huger Sinkler, Jr., her brother, David Mabry Mobley, Jr. and is survived by her three daughters, Frances S. Murphy (Brian) of New York City, Alida S. Barnwell (John) of Charleston, and Caroline C. Sinkler (Jannette) of Charleston. She was the proud grandmother of seven Grandchildren and three Great-grandchildren.
