Flora Frances Westbury Owens, age 75 and widow of David Reginald Owens, passed away peacefully in her home on James Island Thursday, March 1, 2012. She was surrounded by her loving children as she entered into eternal rest. Frances was born July 2, 1936 in Montgomery, Alabama. She was predeceased by her parents Jared Frank Westbury & Flora Bremer Westbury and her siblings Thelma Bradford, Frank Westbury & Dorothy Saussy. Frances attended Commercial High in Savannah, Ga. She moved to Charleston with her family in 1968 and worked in retail sales at various businesses in Charleston such as; Kerrison's, Lesser Tannenbaum, Hamilton Jewelers & Passing Fancy in the market. She retired to enjoy spending time with her husband and grandchildren in her later years. She was involved in many voluntary organizations and an active member of the sorority Beta Sigma Phi since 1981. She was a very dedicated member of Epworth Methodist Church on James Island. She will be sadly missed by her family & friends. She is survived by her children; David (Faye) Owens of Pembroke, GA, Rudy (Amy) Smith of Cheverly, MD, Ronda (Brendon) McAuliffe of New Bern, NC, Roxanne Hale of Charleston, Randy (Charla) Smith of Charleston, Liz (Brian) Sirisky of Charleston and Danny (Penny) Owens of Charleston, her 10 beautiful grandchildren; Julie, Matthew, Rudy, Emily, Nicole, Thomas, Jessica, Savannah, Haley & Hanna; and her 2 great-grandchildren Sarah & Damiano. The relatives and friends of Flora Frances Owens are invited to attend her funeral service at 11:00 am Monday March 5 2012 at Epworth United Methodist Church. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery.
