Evy Lou Gore Shealy, widow of Alton D. Shealy, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 25, 2015. The relatives and friends of Evy Lou G. Shealy are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at Martin Luther Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends this Tuesday evening between 5:00 and 7:00 PM at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. Evy Lou was born in Tabor City, NC on May 4, 1925, a daughter of Lillie Bell Gore and Issac Chester Gore, Sr. She worked for South Carolina Electric & Gas Co. as a Customer Service Representative for many years. Evy Lou loved to entertain, enjoyed cooking and will be remembered for her delicious Deviled Crab. She also enjoyed traveling with her daughter and spending time at Disney with the grandchildren. Christmas was a special time for Evy Lou and her home was decorated to reflect her love for the season. Evy Lou loved to send and receive cards on special occasions and her Christmas tree was often decorated with the cards that were sent to her. She was a devoted member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church for many years until her physical health limited her ability to attend. Evy Lou has requested that in lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions be made in her memory to the Church. She is survived by her children, Pamela M. Smith and William N. Massalon; Six Grandchildren, Twelve Great Grandchildren, One Great Great Grandchild and a sister, Bettie Jo G. Jenrette.
