Eugenia Ann "Jean" Harris Pierce, 81, of John's Island, the widow of Billy Joe Pierce, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 27, 2009. She was born in Anderson, SC, a daughter of James Nathan Erastus Harris and Essie Mae Powell Harris, on Tuesday, August 2, 1927. Jean was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who liked nothing better than making a fuss over her family, always making sure everyone had his or her favorite at family dinners. She could be found most weekends treasure hunting at flea markets and yard sales. Jean worked as a teachers aide in Charleston County Schools. She is survived by her children; Mike Hill and his wife Linda, Sharon Coursey and her husband Chuck, Jo Britton and her husband Eric and Jeffrey Pierce; a sister Doris Harbin; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Jean is predeceased by her husband, Billy Pierce; two brothers, Clarence and Lewis Harris and two sisters, Irene Hudgens and Sara Traschel. The relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Eugenia "Jean" Harris Pierce at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Hwy.
