In Loving Memory of Ernesto Siobal Comilang

Ernesto Siobal Comilang, a devoted man of God, world-class professional, and beloved family man, passed away at the age of 82. A family visitation will take place between 6:00 and 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. Mr. Comilang will be conveyed back to the Philippines for burial.

Born on November 30, 1943, in the Philippines, Ernesto's journey took him across the globe, leaving a legacy of faith and excellence wherever he went.

A Career of Excellence

A graduate with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM), Ernesto spent 50 years mastering his craft. He was known as a "Top-Gun" in the hospitality industry, managing prestigious, world-renowned establishments including the Mandarin Oriental in Manila and the Four Seasons in Las Vegas and Bermuda. His career was defined by his professionalism and a commitment to service that spanned continents.

A Life of Faith and Service

While his professional accomplishments were vast, Ernesto's true passion was his devotion to his faith. He was deeply involved with the Amen Ministry International, spreading the word of God in Toronto, Las Vegas, and the Philippines. He lived by the promise of Matthew 6:33: "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

Whether he was at his home church in Urdaneta City or traveling abroad, he found peace in the words of Psalm 121:7-8: "The Lord will keep you from all harm-he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore."

Hobbies and Passions

Ernesto was a man of high energy and many interests. He was an avid tennis player who enjoyed the challenge of tournaments, a practitioner of karate, and a lover of nature. He found peace in traveling, swimming, and sunbathing, but his greatest joy was found in family gatherings and sharing the message of John 3:1-2, reflecting on the great love the Father has lavished on us that we should be called children of God.

Legacy and Final Lessons

Ernesto is reunited in peace with his parents, Donato and Feliciana (Siobal) Comilang, his ten siblings, and his grandson, Ray John Reyes. His memory will be cherished by his beloved wife, Elisa Vista Comilang, and the many lives he touched.

He leaves behind the strength of Exodus 14:14: "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." His greatest life lesson remains a guiding light for all who knew him: "Put God first in everything you do. Everything is okay because God is with me."
