Enid Joyce "Dumpy" Towles Cave

Mrs. Joyce "Dumpy" Towles Barnwell Cave, 92, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 8, 2013. Miss Dumpy was born September 18, 1920, at Quigley Plantation, the daughter of Mary Enid Mixson and Daniel Quigley Towles. She attended Furman University, graduated from Rice Business School and was a former employee of the Charleston Produce Association. "I had a long wonderful life and am proud of my family. They have been more than I could have hoped for." The beloved widow of Thomas Osborn "Ozzie" Barnwell and Joshua A. Cave, she was pre-deceased by her youngest son, John Frederick "Teddy" Barnwell, four brothers and two sisters and is survived by two devoted sons, Thomas O. Barnwell Jr and William M. Barnwell and three loving step-children, Betsy Cave Carroll, Ashley J. Cave and Lee T. Cave. GranDumpy is also survived by ten cherished grandchildren, eleven treasured great-grandchildren, and countless other friends and family who were blessed to know her.
