Emma L. Hinnant

Emma Lee Hinnant entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Emma Lee Hinnant, widow of Otto C. Hinnant, Jr., was born in Anderson, SC on October 9, 1922. Emma Lee was the daughter of Charles Farquhar Green and Maude Kellers Green. She graduated with honors in 1940 from The Girls High School in Anderson, SC. Emma later moved to Charleston to live with her mother and aunt at her grandmother, Emma Lee Jeffords Kellers' home, located at 95 Broad Street. She attended the College of Charleston and graduated from Rice Business College. She was employed during World War II at the US Naval Hospital under the direction of Chief Coates in the records division. She was predeceased by her two sons, Kenneth Allan Hinnant and Charles Patrick Hinnant. She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Patricia (Patsy) Zanetti and two granddaughters, Emma Lee Zanetti and Anna Lee Zanetti. Emma was a wonderful mother and loved her church. The family has requested memorials be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, 1393 Miles Drive, Charleston, SC 29407 or Caris Hospice, 2900 N. Main Street, Moncks Corner, SC 29461. The relatives and friends of Emma Lee Hinnant are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM Friday, June 21, 2013, at the Graveside, Magnolia Cemetery.
