Emily Durant Strider

Emily Durant Strider, 101, of Charleston, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021.

She was born November 7, 1920 in Cottageville, South Carolina. She was a daughter of Harry Augustus Durant and Eve Addison Durant. She leaves behind her beloved husband of seventy years, James Winston Strider, and a son, James W. Strider, Jr.

Mrs. Strider was predeceased by her parents and her much loved and continually missed daughter, Emily Rebecca Strider.

She attended Winthrop College, majoring in Business and was employed by Westvaco and Colonial Motors in Charleston, SC.

Emily was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was active in the Charleston Exchange Club Auxiliary and John Wesley Methodist Church.
