Entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, Ellen Scott Seabrook, 84, wife of Richard Eugene Seabrook, Jr. Mrs. Seabrook was born in Charleston, S.C. on March 16, 1928, at Baker Hospital. Ellen is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years; Richard E. Seabrook Jr. Richie was her love since the age of 16. Ellen also leaves behind three children Deborah J. Seabrook, Richard E. Seabrook III, and Rhett C. Seabrook, three grandchildren Lisa Potts, Cullen and Ashton Seabrook as well as two great grandchildren Taylor and Shelby Potts. Ellen was the daughter of Charles C. Scott and Lottie Tumbleston and had two siblings Veron R. Scott and Mildred S. Bilardo all deceased. At age 8, Ellen's mother passed and the children attended the Charleston Orphanage House where Ellen excelled. At age 16 Ellen moved in with her half-sister, Marion and Theodore Tumbleston and was reared with their children Wanda and Teddy Tumbleston. Ellen was also close to her relatives Marie and Scott Tumbleston. After graduating school, Ellen worked for Southern Bell and went on to co-own and manage Seabrook Oil Co. for seventeen years. Ellen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and took great pride in her offspring and always gave unquestionable support and love to her family and friends. Ellen will be missed for her lively spirit and giving heart. We all look forward to seeing her again and know she is happy to be reunited with her passed loved ones. May Ellen Rae Seabrook rest in peace under the light of God's love and mercy. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Seabrook, Jr. are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM Friday, March 30, 2012, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM Thursday evening at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. A Vigil Service will begin at 7:00 PM.
