Entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, Elizabeth King Sanders. Beth was born in Charleston a daughter of William W. King, Jr. and Carolyn Smith King on Sunday, December 13, 1959. Beth was a loving and totally devoted mother for her sons John Samuel and Wade. She always put their needs before hers and she went to every school and extracurricular activity possible. She and her boys enjoyed the First Baptist School Boy's Choir trips to Washington , New York and Disney World and she always loved the annual family week at the beach as well as her trips to Hilton Head Island with John Samuel and Wade. Beth finished in the top five in her high school graduating class at Governor Livingston in New Jersey, went to the Honors Program at the University of South Carolina, then graduated Summa Cum Laude from Hood College in Fredrick, Maryland. Beth was employed by law firms in Maryland and in Charleston as a specialist in real estate mortgages and closings. In addition to FB School activities, Beth was a committed supporter of Charleston Community Sailing and Special Olympics sailing events in Charleston and other locations, and the St Andrews Parish recreational soccer leagues. She enjoyed sharing her love for others in her community such as contributing turkeys and canned goods for shut-ins every Thanksgiving through Graham AME Church. Beth was a fiercely loyal friend to many wonderful people. She was a loving mother, daughter and sister who always placed family needs above her own. She was as strong in dealing with life's many challenges as anyone could be. Beth will be missed and loved forever. Surviving are her parents of Charleston; two sons, John Samuel Sanders and William Wade Sanders; two brothers. Nicholas L.B. King (Danielle), John Clotworthy King (Sally) as well as Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, William W. King III; her grandparents, Ruthe N. Parham, Charles W. Parham, W. Ivan Smith, William and Agnes King and her great Aunt Elizabeth M. Clotworthy. The relatives and friends of Beth Sanders are invited to attend her funeral service at 2:00 PM Friday, February 4, 2011, at the First Baptist Church of Charleston. Burial will be in Old St. Andrew's Parish Churchyard. The family will receive friends at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy this Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
