Elaine Morton Schirmer

Elaine Morton Schirmer, 91, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, November 2, 2023, in the home of her loving daughter, Cindy Schirmer. The relatives and friends of Elaine Morton Schirmer are invited to attend her Funeral Service 11:00 AM Monday, November 6, 2023, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 60 Huguenin Avenue, Charleston. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home Monday between 10:00 AM & 10:45 AM.

Elaine was born in Jacksonville, Florida, January 17, 1932 to Kenneth and Dorothea Morton. She was predeceased by her parents and all 6 of her siblings: Kenneth Morton Jr., Dorothea Morton Damon, Elizabeth Morton Reers, Jacqueline Morton Claywell, Richard Mason Morton, and Claudia Hope Morton. She is survived by her children: Cynthia Sue Schirmer, Rebecca Schirmer Brown, Bonnell Schirmer Livingston (Jerry), and Arthur Bonnell Schirmer III (Joyce); her grandchildren: Kyle Sullivan Brown, Holly Amelia Livingston, Gerhard Jacob Livingston, and Jacob Sass Schirmer; beloved goddaughter, Ruth Elaine Creticos, and numerous nieces and nephews. Elaine loved her family, the beach, singing in church, and walking in the pool, and she loved her loyal dachshund, Della.

Elaine was a graduate of Memminger High School (1950) and MUSC School of Nursing (1953) and she was a dedicated nurse for over 40 years.
