Edward Horn Boinest Jr. 80, of Charleston, died peacefully on Saturday, November 19th surrounded by his entire family. "Ted" was born on November 10th 1931, the only son of Edward Horn Boinest and Lucy Green Pringle Boinest. He graduated from Murray Vocational School and started Boinest Construction Company in 1949 when he was 18 years old. Ted was a founding member of the Charleston Contractor's Association, a founding member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, a member of the Great Dane Club of America, a member of the Huguenot Society of South Carolina, and a member and past president of the Society of First Families of South Carolina. Ted loved coaching baseball at St. Andrew's Parks and Playgrounds and was always there for his children, their friends, and their teammates. He is survived by his sons, Edward H. Boinest III and wife Claire, Daniel Scott Boinest and wife Karen, Robert Alexander "Alex" Boinest and wife Lucia, and Richard A. Boinest. Surviving grandchildren are Edward H. "Chip" Boinest IV, Daniel Miles Boinest, Haley Smith Boinest, Richard James "Jimi" Boinest, Caroline Marie Boinest, Lucy Allan Boinest, Ladson Alexander Boinest. He will be dearly missed by his special friend Wilma Mappus. We also thank Robert Kelly for his great support to the family. The relatives and friends of Mr. Edward H. Boinest, Jr. are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at the Graveside, Magnolia Cemetery.
