Edward Allen Botto

Edward Allen Botto, 45, of Charleston, SC, peacefully entered into eternal rest January 10, 2017, surrounded by his family. The relatives and friends of Allen are invited to attend his Funeral Service 10:00 AM Saturday, January 14, 2017, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Hwy. Interment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends between 6:00 and 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. He graduated from Bishop England High School in 1990. Allen enjoyed bicycling, surfing, fishing, and the outdoors. More than anything, he enjoyed visiting with and cooking for his many friends. An animal lover, he cared for many cats and a family of raccoons that lived in the area. Allen was a gentle soul who never met a stranger.Allen is survived by his mother, Lorraine Flaherty; sister, Elizabeth “Beth” Compton (Matt); sister, Bridget A. Botto (Manny Juarez) of Los Angeles, CA; brother, James “Joe” Botto (Sherri) of The Colony, TX; maternal grandmother, Mary McCormack Haynes; five nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James L. Botto; step-father, Thomas Flaherty; maternal grandfather, Edward L.
