Edith Peyton beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt passed away at age 84 on April 4, 2014. The relatives and friends of Edith F. Peyton are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon, Friday, April 11, 2014 in the Chapel of James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway. The burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Edith was an identical twin born to Anne and Angier Hobbs Foster on February 6, 1930, on the Air Force Base in Honolulu, Hawaii. She graduated from Florida State University and began her adult life teaching elementary school. She was a member of Holy Communion Episcopal Church for over 30 years. Edith enjoyed performing at the Dock Street Theater. She had a great love for reading books, travel, and the seashore; but more than anything, else she loved her family. Edith was a person of great compassion and understanding, and is remembered for her humor and whit. Edith is the widow of Walter Gaines Peyton Sr., president of Northgate Petroleum Co., was predeceased by her twin sister, Barbara Goldman, of Alexandria, Va., and her son, Walter Gaines Peyton Jr. of Houston. She is survived by her daughter, Anne Peyton of Houston, her grandsons, Milan Vancouver of Houston. and Matthew Vancouver of Seattle, her niece, Ruth and Andrej Sykora and their children Lily and Oliver, of Mt.
