Miss Eden A. Loperena Ortega, born April 25, 1934, formally of Puerto Rico, died peacefully at her sister's James Island home after a brief illness. Eden's relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 2:00 PM Friday, May 16, 2014, from the chapel of James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service. Eden is predeceased by her parents, Amparo Ortega and Antonio Loperena of Puerto Rico . She is survived by her only sister , Carmen Yost, her nephews Duane (Hilda) Yost of Johns Island and Robert Yost of Columbia, and niece Eden (Lee) Daly of Waynesville, MO, and numerous nephews and nieces in South Carolina and Missouri, as well as cousins in Texas and Puerto Rico. Miss Ortega completed her musical education at Kudirka Studios in Puerto Rico. She taught music over 34 years at numerous public schools in Old San Juan. She also performed musical events, with her trios playing her favorite instrument, the Accordion. She will be dearly missed by her Family , Friends, Fans and Students . RIP 4.25.1934 - 5.11.2014.
