Dorothy Henderson Willis

Dorothy H. Willis, 90, long time resident of Mt. Pleasant, SC and widow of Archie D. Willis, Jr., entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 5, 2023.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM, Friday, August 18, 2023 at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be attended by Immediate family only.

Dorothy was born in Charleston, SC on March 6, 1933, the daughter of Joseph Carl and Ollie Raines Henderson. She worked for the Medical University Hospital of SC for 20 plus years, as Office Manager for the Department of Anesthesiology. Dorothy was known as 'Dot' by all her friends and family. She was a very sweet and loving woman. All who knew Dot knew how she loved to dress to impress. She so enjoyed decorating a house, antiques, travel, the theater and of course, shopping. Her true love that meant the world to her was her family. She was so very proud of her grandchildren. Dot will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

She is predeceased by her husband and her brothers, Joseph and James Allen Henderson.

She is survived by her only daughter, Joan Vaden Younglund and her husband, Kevin, of Mesa, AZ, her brothers, Charles Lewis Henderson and Douglas Henderson, both of Mt. Pleasant, SC, as well as her grandson, Connor Davis Younglund of Charleston, SC and her granddaughter, Amanda Nichole Younglund of Corvallis, OR.
