Dorothy Meyers Slaughter, 91, of Charleston, widow of the late Edwin F. Slaughter, died Saturday, March 24, 2012. "Dot" was born on September 1, 1920 in Dallas, Texas where she was raised. She moved to Charlotte, NC where she attended Queens College and was in Chi Omega Soriety. Dot was married to Edwin "Ed" F Slaughter for 46 years. They lived in Charlotte for 15 years and moved to Lancaster, SC in 1959 where they remained for 40 years. They traveled the world, enjoyed golf, bridge, family and friends. She moved to Bishop Gadsden Retirement Community in 1999 where she remained for 13 years. Dot was predeceased by her husband Ed, son Wynn Slaughter and grandson Ed Iseley. She is survived by daughter Jeanne Slaughter (Iseley) Rowland of Sumter, SC, daughter Nancy Slaughter Deuel of N. Myrtle Beach, SC and granddaughter, Katherine Iseley of Sumter, SC and Ahmednagar, India. The relatives and friends of Dorothy Meyers Slaughter are invited to attend a celebration of her life at Bishop Gadsden Chapel on Thursday, March 29 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow. There will also be a Memorial Service in Lancaster SC at Christ Episcopal Church, 534 Plantation Rd. at 3:30 p.m. on Palm Sunday April 1, 2012.
