CHARLESTON- Doris Louise Conner Strahan passed away January 25, 2010. She was born in St. George, Ga, July 24, 1937 to Alfred Lee & Emily Crews Conner, raised in Jacksonville but spent most of her life in Charlston, SC. Mrs. Strahan is also predeceased by 2 brothers Albert Lee and John Edward Conner. Mrs. Strahan was a hairdresser for 35 years. Survivers include her husband Thomas Strahan of Charlston, son Robert (Nena) Vanwormer, Saint Stevens, S.C., 4 step-daughters Kim Carlson ,Jennifer Bitterlich of Colorado, Melissa Medaugh of Charlotte, N.C. and April Talbert of Columbia, SC, 2 sisters Dorothy Carter of Melrose,FL and Shirley (Charles) Burns of Jacksonville, as well as a brother Alton Lee (Brenda) Conner of Hilliard, one aunt Lois Crews of St. George, Ga. several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friendJean Moser of Callahan. Visitation will be held in the CHAPEL of Callahan Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. with funeral services on Thursday , January 28, 2010 at 2:00p.m. in New Life Baptist Church, St. George, Ga. with interment in Boone's Creek Cemetery, Charlton Co.
