A country riddled in turmoil and eventually war, WWII. She grew up in this chaos and survived. Dora was the greatest generation. As was our Dad, who fell in love with our mom. They married and moved on to America. In 1954, Dora became a legal citizen of the U.S.A.. Such a proud moment it was for her. Subsequently, Dora had a 40+ career in retail sales, which she learned as a trade during her schooling in Germany. Along the way, she and Daddy raised two daughters. Our life was simple and good. There was no lack of love around us. Also, some good cooking, German and Southern. During visits to Alabama, our Dad's family, she learned to prepare food southern style. Yum. Our Mom was very fond of animals. We always had a pet dog, plus some other critters along the way. Dora loved to travel. It was so much fun. So many memories, so many stories to tell. In essence, Dora was a lovely person and her presence will be missed. At peace with God, we thank God for giving her to us. We love you Mommy, aka, Tutu, Amee and eventually TutuAmee.
