Dora Emma Ewald died August 24, 2011 at Bishop Gadsden where she had lived for 9 years. She was born March 17, 1908 in New York, the daughter of Emma and Hermann Hansen of Germany. He was an engineer and inventor. She lived in Bronxville, New York for over 75 years and was married to Harold E. Ewald who died in 1974. She was predeceased by her son, Bruce H. Ewald DVM, of Arizona and her sister Martha H. Fallon of Bronxville. She is survived by daughter-in-law Carolyn A. Ewald of Arizona and by grandsons David A. Ewald who lives in New Jersey and Mark C. Ewald who lives Colorado. She has two great granddaughters in Colorado, Ariana and Melania. Her nephew Harold J. Fallon MD and his wife Jo Ann live on Kiawah Island. Their four children, their spouses, and eleven grandchildren visited her often and lovingly called her Grandma Dot. A memorial service will be held at Bishop Gadsden Tuesday August 30 at 2 PM with burial to be later. In lieu of flowers contributions to the Bishop Gadsden Residents Fund would be appreciated.
