Donald Herbert Scandell

Mr. Donald Herbert Scandell, 87, husband of Rose Jordan Scandell, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, April 14, 2015. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Donald H. Scandell are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Hwy. Interment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens on Highway 61. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Service. Don was born on June 7, 1927, in Rockville Centre, NY, the son of the late Herbert David and Lillian Bauer Scandell. He was a retired Sergeant with Lieber Correctional facility and a former Constable . Don was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Police Tri County Lodge 3. A devoted member of Charleston Baptist Church, he was an ordained minister and had graduated from the Nyack Missionary Training Institute. A veteran of the United States Navy, Mr. Scandell served in WWII and was a member of American Legion Post 179. In addition to his wife Rose, Donald is survived by his 2 daughters Gail C. Scandell of Columbia, SC and Nancy S. Scandell of Gilbert, SC, and his son, Kenneth C. Scandell of Virginia Beach, VA. Also surviving are Rose's children, Wesley T. DeHay, Rose D. DeHay, William T. Easterling and Linda Easterling Patrick as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Memorials may be made in Donald's memory to Charleston Baptist Church or to Veterans Victory House.
