Dera B. Bicaise

Dera Boyette Bicaise, 102, widow of Paul Brazie Bicaise, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 14, 2013. She was born October 3, 1910 in Cobbtown, Georgia, a daughter of Rosa Alice and Thomas Lawton Boyette. Dera was a homemaker who dearly loved her family. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church . She is survived by her daughters; Rose Ann Mitchell and her husband Edward of Norcross, GA; Elizabeth (Betty) Eaton and her husband Frank of Charleston, SC; and her son Edward Lawton Bicaise of Charleston, SC. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Edward B. Mitchell, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Norcross, GA, Frank E. Eaton Jr. of Charleston, SC, Beth E. Griffith and her husband Kenny of Charleston, SC, Ellen M. Kelly and her husband Philip of Augusta GA and Eugene (Gene) P. Eaton of Charleston, SC. She has five great-grandchildren; Allison, Philip and Lindy Kelly, Shannon Griffith and Matthew Mitchell. Dera has one surviving sister, Tycile Williamson, of Lyons, GA and a host of nieces and nephews . The family would like to thank Hospice Care of America for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 57 Pitt St., Charleston, SC 29401, Hospice Care of America, 1470 Tobias Gadson Blvd., Suite 107, Charleston, SC 29407 or to a charity of your choice. The relatives and friends of Dera Boyette Bicaise are invited to attend her Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. John Warren, at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at The James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the Funeral Home.
