Dale L. Dutremble

Dale L. DuTremble, attorney at law, passed on at 5 AM Monday, August 30, 2010, at Hospice of Charleston following a three year battle with bladder cancer. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Dietzel DuTremble and his sons, David and Michael, and Michael's wife, Blake DuTremble. His surviving siblings are Laurien R. DuTremble of California, Randy DuTremble, and sister Karen Balen, both of Maine; Kathie's parents Anne & Paul Dietzel and her brother, Steve, his wife, Judy and son, Paul. Dale was born on Friday, March 12, 1948, in Ft. Dix, NJ, a son of Laurien R. and Lorraine J. DeTroy DuTremble. He graduated from A.C. Flora High School in Columbia, SC Dale served two tours of duty as a United States Marine in Vietnam and was discharged a corporal after being awarded the Bronze Star. A graduate of the University of South Carolina law school, during his 30-year career he was an assistant US Attorney, a municipal court judge in Mt. Pleasant, maintained a private practice, as well as serving the City of North Charleston as prosecutor at the time of his death. He and his family are members of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, 120 Broad St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM, Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, followed by Military Honors.
