Entered into eternal rest on Tuesday evening, March 23, 2010, Constance Margaret Oldmixon Ballantine, the widow of William Robert Ballantine. The relatives and friends of Constance O. Ballantine are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savan- nah Hwy. The Rosary will be recited at 5:00 PM Connie was born in Charleston, a daugter of William Adrian and Lucille Magdalene Dean Oldmixon on Thursday, October 11, 1923. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Catholic School and Bishop England High School. Connie was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, where she was a volunteer collection counter, a member of the Women's Guild and a founding member of Perpetual Adoration. Connie was a personal assistant in the Charleston office for U.S. Senator Strom Thurmond, a manger for C & S Bank and retired from the Naval Facilities Engineering Command. She was a memmber of the Arion Society's Ladies Auxillary. Surviving are a sister, Lucille Oldmixon Zwingmann; two nieces, Beth Zwingmann and Barbara Z. Flaherty and her husband, Paul; a nephew, John G. Zwingmann; eight great nieces and nephews; one great, great niece and one great, great nephew.
