Clydie Eaddy Bevis entered into eternal rest, Thursday, November 9, 2023, in her home with her children present.
The relatives and friends of Clydie Eaddy Bevis are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated 11:30 AM Monday, November 20, 2023, at The Church of the Nativity, 1061 Folly Road, Charleston. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road, Charleston. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Sunday Afternoon at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy, Charleston.
Clydie was born in Florence County, SC and was married to Alfred E. Bevis of Charleston, SC. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years; her parents, Irene Huggins Eaddy and Burch Fleetwood Eaddy; her brother, James Edward Eaddy; and three sons: Ernest R. Boswell, Paul Gino Boswell and Britt Lamarr Boswell.
She is survived by two brothers, Eugene Fleetwood Eaddy (Delcie) and Clifton Burch Eaddy (Sue); a sister-in-law, Nancy Eaddy Griffin (BC); a daughter, Kathy B. Harris (David) and a son, Joel Fleetwood Boswell; her six grandchildren: Robert Eugene Meyer (Jennifer), Michael Sean Meyer (Rebecca), Kathryn Suzanne Meyer Webb (Tim), Holly Ann Boswell Hearn, Joshua Lamarr Boswell (Rebecca) and Joseph Burch Boswell; her four great-grandchildren: Marisa Ann Meyer, Benjamin Avery Meyer, Katelyn Marie Webb and Kelsey Michelle Webb, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Clydie spent most of her life working in the Food Service Industry, including fifteen years at Old Towne Greek Restaurant on King Street. She was an avid reader, enjoying suspense mysteries. Most of all she enjoyed her family, and especially her grandchildren. She loved gardening and watching red birds from her porch. Her two cats, Sheba and Tigger, entertained her continuously with their scampering about and their unconditional devotion.
Memorial contributions in Clydie's name may be made to Church of the Nativity or a charity of your choice.
