Clyde Wilburn Shieder

Clyde Wilburn Shieder, Jr., 68, husband of Margaret Louise Price Shieder, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 6 2013. He was born on September 20, 1944, a son of Ethel Shieder Hobbs and the late Clyde Wilburn Shieder, Sr. Clyde attended St. John's High School and was a member of John's Island Baptist Church. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a fireman with the City of Charleston Fire Department and received a commendation for saving a woman from a burning apartment building. He was also employed by Westvaco for twenty one years before retiring. Clyde is survived by his wife of forty seven years, Margaret Louise Price Shieder, a daughter, Wanda Louise Shieder, a son, William Shieder, his mother, Ethel B. Hobbs, a granddaughter, Danielle Billings and a great grandson, Clayton Michael Shirley. He is also survived by a sister, Linda Boyer, a sister-in-law, Nancy Shieder along with nieces and nephews Kim Boyer, Amy Craig, Brian Shieder and other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donnie Shieder and Mack Shieder. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde W. Shieder, Jr. are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 10:30 AM Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. this Wednesday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
