Christine Weigand (Kit) Rustin, wife of Steven B. Rustin, died Thursday February 4, 2016, surrounded by family at her home. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Steven B. Rustin are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 1:00 PM Monday, February 8, 2016, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Hwy. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Christine who was affectionately known to all as Kit loved couponing, shopping, crocheting and knitting things. Kit enjoyed crabbing and shrimping with her husband and friends and was a very loving and caring person always willing to help those in need. She and Steven had a loving relationship for 25 years.Kit worked for many years at Liela Hospital on the pediatric unit and loved caring for children. Kit moved to South Carolina after meeting her husband as a pen pal and worked for Roper, St. Francis and Trident Hospitals as a nurse. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially nieces and nephews.She is survived by her husband, Steven B Rustin and her doggies, Lola and Desi who she loved and adored; her sister, Roberta K. Shivley; her brother, Dennis Weigand (Keron); a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews including Kirk Shivley, Lynn Shivley-Robbins (Worthy), Michelle, Diane, Carol, Sara and Tommie Williams II, the apple of her eye. She is also survived by her sisters in law: Joyce Weigand and Suzanne Piper (Gary); her brother in law, Shep Rustin (Lynn) and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille Evelyn and Hartwell Weigand; her brothers: Kenneth and Terrance Weigand and a brother in law, Virgil K. Shivley. She will be greatly missed by all who loved andcared about her.
