Charlotte Ann Sarnowski

Charlotte Ann Sarnowski, 76, of Charleston, SC passed away Friday, December 15, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, 120 Broad Street, Charleston. The family will receive friends between 3:00 and 5:00 PM Monday at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. Interment will take place at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Charlotte was born in Jamesport, NY to John and Josephine Wowak. Predeceased by her sister, Constance and brother John.

In the quiet embrace of memories, we bid farewell to Charlotte Sarnowski—a devoted mother, inspirational educator, and steadfast friend. Charlotte's life was a tapestry woven with love, compassion, and a profound dedication to those she held dear.

A nurturing mother, Charlotte's love for her son was boundless. As an educator, she left an indelible mark on the hearts of her students, and as a fierce and loyal friend, Charlotte was the unwavering anchor in the lives of those fortunate enough to call her companion. Charlotte's spirit of volunteerism touched many lives. From her early days with Birthright of Charleston to her active involvement in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, she poured her time and energy into causes that resonated with her compassionate heart, forming enduring friendships within the parish community.

As Charlotte's spirit lives on, may her memory be a source of comfort, and may the love she shared continue to blossom in the hearts of those she touched.

Charlotte is survived by her brother, Thomas Wowak and son, Aaron Calhoun, wife Jessica.
