Entered into eternal rest Mr. Charles Alton Taylor, widower of Elinor McIntosh Taylor, of Charleston, SC The relatives and friends of Mr. Charles A. Taylor are invited to attend his funeral service at 11:30 AM Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Hwy Burial will be in the French Huguenot Churchyard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Mr. Taylor was was born in East Providence, RI on March 4, 1927, a son of Charles Everett Norwood Taylor and Alice Margaret Carter Taylor. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a graduate of the University of South Carolina. Mr. Taylor was a member of the French Huguenot Church, the Elks Lodge 242 and had a large circle of close friends that were greatly appreciated by his family. Surviving are three daughters, Marjorie T. Player and her husband, Robert, Jane T. Gaskins and her husband, Dana, and Carol T. Carter and her husband, Carl; seven grandchildren, E. Christine Player, Charles G. Player and his wife, Douwadee, Jennifer C. Milligan and her husband, Allen, John T. Gaskins, Laura C. Stone and her husband, Robert, David A. Gaskins and Michael T. Gaskins; five great grandchildren; a sister, Jean T. Chaffee and a brother in law, Charles D.
