Entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, Mr. Charles Eugene Bishop, Sr. Residence, James Island, SC. Funeral services and burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Operation Uplink, Rear Admiral J.J. Raby VFW Post 445, 1639 Camp Rd. James Island, SC 29412. Mr. Bishop was born in Asheville, NC. on September 25, 1933, the son of Herman and Helen Shelton Bishop. He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. During his service to our country he was able to travel the world and lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed boating, aviation and played in the U.S. Air Force football league. Mr. Bishop was a member of the American Legion, the V.F.W. Post 445 and the James Island Yacht Club. Mr. Bishop is survived by his daughter: Carolyn Bishop McLeod, and her husband, Glenn; his son: Charles E. "Chuck" Bishop, Jr.; his grandchildren: Charles E. "Trace" Bishop III and Brooke Bishop; his brothers: Ted and Jack Bishop; his sisters: Carolyn B. Augustine and Betty Anne Runion as well as his faithful feline companion, Buddy.
