Charles Aimar Sullivan Jr. 56, died Saturday December 6 unexpectantly at his home in Greenville SC. He was born February 10,1969 in Charleston SC to Charles Aimar Sullivan and Sarah Calhoun McBee. He was a descendant of John C. Calhoun and Vardry McBee, who is considered the founding father of Greenville SC. Raised in Charleston, Charles attended Bishop England and Middleton High Schools and Trident Tech.
He was an HVAC and refrigeration specialist and the owner of Charles Sullivan Heating and Air. He was formerly employed by the Jacksonville Jaguar organization, local Greenville businesses, before starting his own company. Charles enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, of which he owned several. He was an avid Jaguars football fan, and he and Lori tried to attend a game each season. He enjoyed collecting team memorabilia and merchandise and was always ready to discuss the current season and stats.
Charles spent his adult life in the HVAC business and was known for his expert knowledge in the field. He was happy to share advice when called by others. He was always available to help friends and family.
Charles will be remembered for his big, caring heart. He understood hardship, was generous with his time and knowledge, and was a proud father to his son Charlie.
Charles was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his son Charles Aimar Sullivan lll “Charlie”, his sister Amy Sullivan Copeland (Steve), his life partner Lori Brannon Collins, and numerous cousins.
A memorial visitation will be held at James A. McAlister Funeral Home on Tuesday December 16 from 5 to 7 pm. A church funeral will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Grace City Church, 2105 Cosgrove Ave., North Charleston. A celebration of life will be held Saturday December 20 at Bimini’s restaurant, 100 Villa Road Greenville, SC from 2 to 4 pm.
